Housebound and Elderly Patients
Many patients find it difficult to visit the practice to see the GP or nurses, and we are always grateful to carers, family and friends who help loved ones attend their appointments and plan their care.
But we know that there are times where it is never possible to get the surgery. To help, we have a community matron, Chris Turner, and community nurse, Jackie Galvin, who are involved in visiting and supporting patients who have multiple medical problems and longterm illness. They work closely with the GPs and we have regular meetings to discuss all the patients on their caseload. Our district nursing team are also based at the practice and are able to visit housebound patients to help with dressings, bloods tests and other nursing care. If you feel that you or a family member may require their assistance, please just call.
Where GP home visits are requested by patients or their carers we politefully ask that you please contact the surgery before 11am.
Flu jabs are available to all patients over 65yrs and those with certain long term health conditions. We will write to you know when the time comes have your jab.
There are many local and national groups also able to help including Help the Aged, Age Concern and South Gloucestershire Council.
